Pokémon Sword & Shield's The Crown Tundra DLC will bring all Legendary Pokémon back to the game when it launches next month.
Generation 8's diminished Pokédex was met with an outpouring of emotion when it was originally announced. Some sighed with relief knowing that this time, filling out their Pokédex wouldn't take hours, and hours, and hours, and they would appreciate the world a little more. However, others felt like Game Freak was holding out on them, and this departure from the series standard left behind what made finishing a Pokémon game an enviable achievement. Gotta catch 'em all, etc.
"We currently have no plans to make the Pokémon that are missing from the Galar Pokedex available in-game," said producer Junichi Masuda late last year. "We encourage people to use Pokémon Home to collect their Pokémon from old games. From there they might be able to take them to other games in the future. So take good care of your old Pokémon, because perhaps you can travel with them again in the future." Oh, you rogue, Masuda.

Like The Isle of Armor, the second DLC will add a number of pre-existing Pokémon to the region, including Dragonite, Metagross, Garchomp, and the Nidoran families. It will also see the reappearance of all of the remaining Legendaries from the previous games. That's the Regis, the Aura Trio, the Creation Trio, the Legendary Beasts, the Legendary Birds, the Lake Guardians, the Forces of Nature, the Weather Trio... it's all of them. Every last one. The whole kit and caboodle.
The Crown Tundra welcomes three new Legendaries - namely Calyrex, Regieleki, and Regidrago - to the mix, too. So, if you were one of those people peeved by the missing Pokémon, it's all gravy now, right? You only had to wait *checks watch that I don't own* almost a whole year!
Additionally, the story of The Isle of Armor will continue in The Crown Tundra, and players will be able to team up with Gym Leaders and Trainers in battle. Pokémon Go to Home connectivity is also on the way, and when players transfer a 'mon between the boxes, they'll receive a Gigantamax Melmetal. Last but not least, Game Freak is giving away Ash's Pikachu wearing a variety of very adorable hats. The first of these is available now, with the password 'P1KACHUGET'.
