Rockstar Games has clearly gotten sick of people asking it to make Red Dead Redemption II: Undead Nightmare, so they’ve decided to give us the next best thing… although your opinions may be divided as to whether or not that’s a good thing.

That’s right folks, after several years of drought, we finally have a new, official trailer for a Red Dead Redemption game! Incredible news!

Oh, wait, sorry… just getting an update through on my phone… oh. It’s for Red Dead Online. Never mind, cancel the hype train.

Jokes aside, this trailer is interesting for a whole bunch of different reasons. Firstly, although Red Dead Online has been getting little content updates every month or so since it launched, it’s been a long while since we got a proper content update (and even longer since we got a trailer for one).

Many simply assumed that Rockstar Games was finished with the game, considering how much more profitable Grand Theft Auto Online is.

Obviously this isn’t true, because they just dropped a trailer, but there’s another interesting little hint about the game’s longevity in here, too; the update is called Strange Tales of the West Volume 1. As in, the first entry.

Anyway, enough waffling from me, because here’s a link to the trailer on Rockstar Games’ official Twitter account.

Speaking of, here’s what the commenters have to say about the reveal.

“First RDO trailer in almost 4 years… is Red Dead Online support back?” commented user @SynthPotato.

“Back to supporting Red Dead Online in 2025?” replied user @GTAVI_Countdown. “Can feel that RDR2 next-gen update approaching…”

If you want a full breakdown of all of the content in the new update, I suggest checking out Rockstar Games’ official blog post.

I wonder if the fact that they’ve modelled and programmed actual zombie enemies means that they could be cooking up some kind of Undead Nightmare spin-off… eh, that’s probably just wishful thinking.
