The latest Marvel television show to land on Disney Plus has been met both with review bombing and positive reviews, bringing with it the appearance of an iconic villain.
Ironheart arrived on Disney+ last week and follows the story of genius teenage inventor Riri Williams as she creates the most advanced suit of armour since Iron Man.
As his female counterpart, Riri has a lot to live up to but in this television miniseries, it seems as though she was capable as the show currently sits at a 86% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The show may have been hit with a series of review bombs from people who believe that Iron Man should only be a white man, but it seems as though those with brains are actually enjoying Marvel’s latest project.

That is especially due to the main villain of the show who, following a string of hints, was finally unveiled in the Ironheart finale. Spoilers lie ahead.
That’s right, Mephisto has finally made his MCU debut and is played by none other than Sacha Baron Cohen.
First appearing in Silver Surfer #3 (December 1968), Mephisto has remained an iconic villain in Marvel Comics after going toe-to-toe with the likes of Silver Surfer, Spider-Man, Ghost Rider, Doctor Strange, Doctor Doom, and Scarlet Witch.
The latter is why many fans believed that he would appear in WandaVision but it seems as though Marvel was waiting for Ironheart to finally bring him to the big screen.

As you can imagine, fans were over the moon and took to social media to share their thoughts on this surprise appearance.
“Arghhh, human Mephisto in Ironheart?!” one Twitter user exclaimed.
“And you’re telling me this show’s sh*t? Omg, this just became top three Marvel TV!!!”
Another user agreed, adding, “Mephisto’s introduction feels as big as He Who Remains' introduction at the end of Loki S1 and that really excites me for the future of the MCU.”

Ironheart has not yet been renewed for a second season but if it is, it seems as though the future is looking bright with the arrival of Mephisto himself. Hopefully we will get to see more of this iconic character who, on paper, is far more powerful than both Thanos and Dr. Doom.
