A fan favourite Marvel character could finally appear in the MCU, teases one Avengers: Doomsday writer.
Before we know it, Avengers: Doomsday will be upon us and with a bit of luck, by that time, the MCU will already be back on track to reach the heights it once achieved during the Infinity Saga.
To be fair, those expectations of achieving anything like the previous success of the MCU might be somewhat unattainable, but being the optimist that I am, I will have my fingers crossed nonetheless.
Following The Fantastic Four: First Steps, I do have renewed hope, and with that post-credit scene, it looks like it’s setting everything up wonderfully for the MCU Phase 6 and beyond.

That being said, there are still a lot of unknowns when it comes to MCU Phase 6 and 7, and that’s the way I like it. If there were no surprises, the entertainment industry wouldn't be quite as fun, especially with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With that in mind, ironically, one surprise that could soon be revealed is the debut of a character that Marvel fans have waited years to appear in the MCU.
We were first introduced to the intergalactic police force, The Nova Corps, in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and with that, many fans may have been hoping that the arrival of the character Nova wouldn't be too far behind.
At this point, it might be fair to have given up hope that the superhuman member of The Nova Corp will be introduced in the MCU, but alas, it seems that time might arrive one day.

As reported by ScreenRant, during an interview with The Playlist, Michael Waldron, who was the original script writer for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, before it became Avengers: Doomsday, was asked if there is an MCU role perfect for Glenn Powell (Top Gun: Maverick, Twisters), whose most recent movie is The Running Man reboot.
Michael Waldron replied, “He’d be a pretty good Nova.” Last year, when The Playlist asked Glenn Powell if he had been asked to star in an MCU or DCU production, he said, “I’ve never gotten a call from DC or Marvel. But I’m a fan of everything they do.”
Of course, we should take this gossip with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. For what it’s worth, I think Glenn Powell will not only look the part, but he also has the cocky and boastful demeanour that would be suited for an overpowered character like Nova.
The next MCU movie currently scheduled to arrive is Spider-Man: Brand New Day on 31 July 2026, followed by Avengers: Doomsday on 18 December 2026 and then Avengers: Secret Wars on 17 December 2027.
