The countdown for Grand Theft Auto VI is back in full swing following the unfortunate news of a delay earlier this year.
Originally planned to launch some time in fall 2025, Rockstar revealed that Grand Theft Auto VI would be pushed back to 26 May 2026 and although fans were disappointed in having to wait another year, many realised that it would still be worth the wait.
Following the news of the delay, Rockstar placated fans with the second official trailer for GTA VI which gave us more footage of the state of Leonida, Vice City and, of course, our brand-new protagonists Jason and Lucia who will take part in a Bonnie and Clyde-esque adventure.
Since then, Rockstar has retreated back to the shadows to focus on development ahead of the big launch but eagle-eyed fans have noticed that GTA VI is now available to wishlist on the Xbox store.

Following the second trailer, GTA VI was available to wishlist on the PlayStation Store and after long last, Xbox has now followed suit.
Spotted by user JadedPaleontologist0, Grand Theft Auto VI can now be added to your Xbox wishlist and although this will not gain you access to the game any quicker, it is definitely a way to keep the hype alive whilst you wait.
With Sony rumoured to own the marketing rights to GTA VI, it perhaps makes sense that it has appeared on the PlayStation Store before the Xbox Store despite the Rockstar title ultimately being released on both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Not only that but some users have reported gaining access to a small download upon adding the game to their wishlist.

However, as you can imagine, seeing a download initially got some users feeling excited.
“You’re not downloading anything game related,” one Reddit user explained.
“That 300MB is just the loading art and some console data. You can download other games you don’t own through the Xbox app.”
Another user added, “If you have the Xbox app you can 'download' 300MB of whatever it is onto your Xbox. Obviously not the actual game but looks pretty cool sitting there in the list of your games!!”
