Bethesda is reportedly trial-running a new trailer for The Elder Scrolls VI, although exactly when we’ll be able to see it for ourselves is still up in the air.
Alright, I know that’s an odd sentence to wrap your head around, so let me explain.
According to Jez Corden on the Xbox Two Podcast, Bethesda has been showing off a trailer for The Elder Scrolls VI to folks within Microsoft. Now, before you get too excited, the only thing that’s leaked is the trailer’s existence, not the trailer itself.
Also, this might be the second time you’ve heard this news. That’s because, prior to the Xbox Games Showcase last month, Jez Corden basically said exactly the same thing… except he also theorised that it may be shown at said showcase (which annoyed a lot of people when, unsurprisingly, nothing The Elder Scrolls VI-related appeared).

So, how likely is it that this is true? Well, actually… probably very likely.
Showing off a trailer internally is a pretty common practice in the gaming industry. Bosses are going to want to see how it looks before it goes out, and the PR team is going to need to be prepared once it goes live.
That being said, sometimes these trailers are actually never intended to be viewed by the public. Occasionally, they just serve as more of a proof-of-concept thing for the higher-ups.
The real question is, if this trailer IS something that Bethesda has created with the intention of showing it off to the public, where and when are they going to reveal it?

My best guess? The Game Awards in December.
Between now and then, there’s not really another event big enough for a reveal of this magnitude. Unless Bethesda and Microsoft are just intending to throw it on YouTube on some random date, I think we might have to wait for another half a year before we can lay our eyes on it.
