The Elder Scrolls VI trailer has broken a record that Bethesda most certainly never wanted, at least before the game is released.
It’s been seven long years, and counting, and we’re yet to get a release date or a gameplay trailer for Bethesda’s next entry in the beloved The Elder Scrolls series.
Announced during E3 2018, the teaser trailer for The Elder Scrolls VI set those in attendance in the arena and those watching the stream at home into a meltdown. The only problem is, we’ve not seen anything of the game ever since.

The only positive to take from The Elder Scrolls VI going AWOL is that we know it’s not in developmental hell.
Bethesda could drop the release of the highly anticipated fantasy RPG at any time, and it will no doubt smash all sorts of records, capitalising on fan hype.
Unfortunately for Bethesda, one record has already been broken relating to the only trailer for The Elder Scrolls VI, which no other teaser has surely achieved.
As brought to our attention by Reddit user timc12, the teaser trailer for The Elder Scrolls VI on YouTube has exceeded 100,000 comments, joining its ever-increasing 19 million views.

“I heard when it hits 1,000,000, Bethesda will release the game,” claimed sarcastic Redditor Iamgl4dos. “I have an uncle who's friend's wife's boyfriend is good friends with Todd Howard's manicurist.”
“I think Bethesda wants us to mod this trailer into a playable game,” joked okhir100 in the YouTube comments section.
“I can't wait for Bethesda to remaster this trailer,” said narrikorciuch1021.
“The granny from the Titanic meme would appropriate today,” exclaimed calcymon89.

Hopefully, the apocalypse won't arrive before The Elder Scrolls VI gets a chance to be released. We’ll keep you posted either way. It's also probably safe to assume that it will be a next-gen title at this point.
