‘Assassin’s Creed Vahalla’ Teaser Shows Off First Look At Asgard

Jotunheim and Asgard are top of our tourist destinations this year.

The Assassin's Creed series, although rooted deeply in historical texts, facts, and lore loves to play around with the mythological. From the very first instalment of the game back in 2007, the tendency for the series to start with an accurate look at a time period before jumping into magic and sorcery in the form of the pieces of Eden is standard.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey had you fighting the Minotaur, for example, with several other reveals of Greek mythological tales intertwining with Kassandra and Alexios's story. Assassin's Creed Origins got into Egyptian mythology and beliefs, although in perhaps a less literal way than Odyssey, as protagonist Bayek spoke to the Egyptian gods while praying, and battling one when close to death.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be no different. Vikings had their own beliefs which will be explored at length by the game. The first hint at this was during a trailer of the game where during an intense battle, Eivor sees a stranger in a cloak before declaring that "Odin is with us".

Now we have our first look at where the mythological side of the game will come in, with images of both Jotunheim and Asgard in-game. Asgard's rainbow bridge, the Bifrost, looks especially beautiful, but both images are stunning.

We hope that we get to wander around either or even both of the sets at some point in the game. Getting to actually meet Odin would be a pleasure don't you think? Do we shake his hand, or like, hug him? Which feels appropriate with a god?

In other Assassin's Creed Valhalla news, you'll be glad to know that you can hold and pet all the cats in the game, an important asset, as well as being able to take them along with you on raids.

Excitingly, Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be available next month on 10 November, and will be available to play on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC.
