The Rock Explains Why Black Adam Would Absolutely Kill Superman

The Rock didn't come to play

After months of excitement, DC and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson finally shared a first look at Black Adam during this weekend's DC Fandome event, and it did not disappoint.

Johnson looks the absolute business in his full Black Adam costume, and has once again promised that "the hierarchy of power in the DC Universe will change". It's not that shocking, then, to hear the actor already talking smack about Superman.

Up until now, the most powerful being in the current crop of DC movies has probably been Superman. We caught a glimpse of Darkseid in Zack Snyder's Justice League, sure, but it's the Man Of Steel who's really regarded as the strongest there is in the movie universe as of right now.

Clearly Johnson wants us to know this is going to change in a big way, as he recently reminded fans that Black Adam could absolutely destroy Superman if he wanted to. Comic book nerds everywhere will know that one of Superman's major weaknesses, besides Kyptonite, is magic. And where does Black Adam's power come from? You guessed it. Magic, baby.

Johnson was quick to educate the fans. Responding to a Twitter user who suggested Superman might be the only one capable of stopping Black Adam, Johnson laid out the facts.

"Remember, Superman's greatest weakness isn't kryptonite, it's magic," he wrote. "Black Adam's greatest superpower is magic. "They both fly at light speed. They both are unstoppable forces. But only one will kill the other."

Now, I'm not the most well-versed in DC history, but I'm fairly certain that Superman and Black Adam have never actually gone head-to-head in the comics - at least not in a one-against-one fight to the death. The two have definitely clashed before, although Superman almost always has backup. Would Black Adam really kill Superman if it came down to it, then? I honestly wouldn't bet against it.
