GTA 6 will seemingly bring back a cut GTA 5 mechanic

This might be the first time the GTA 6 community is actually right about something

One eagle-eyed gamer has spotted what looks to be a cut Grand Theft Auto V mechanic in one of Grand Theft Auto VI’s trailers, which has led some fans to speculate that it may finally be implemented in Rockstar Games’ upcoming title.

Thank you in advance to Game Rant's Aaron McKinley for originally spotting this one!

Over on the r/GTA6 subreddit, user Kamil210s noticed something odd in Grand Theft Auto VI’s second trailer.

As you can see in the screenshot they referenced in their post, GTA VI’s protagonist Lucia can be seen holding a pistol with one hand. In the early trailers for GTA V, Franklin could also be seen holding a pistol with one hand, although this mechanic was later cut from the full game.

Now this could just be a case of something in a cutscene not transitioning into actual gameplay, because the screenshot they’ve used of Lucia doesn’t seem to be from any kind of in-game segment.

However, one of the commenters in the thread pointed out something interesting; this isn’t actually the first time we’ve seen this mechanic in Grand Theft Auto VI.

“There’s also a clip on the leaks where they’re switching between a two handed and one handed stance,” commented user ScottRans0m.

“Hope it’s one handed, I loved that shooting stance in RDR2 - looked so much better.”

So I can’t actually share said clip with you (as Rockstar Games isn’t too fond of people sharing links to leaked assets of their games, unsurprisingly), but I did track it down… and they’re right. You can very clearly see that it’s possible to switch between two different shooting styles in the leaked gameplay.

Obviously things change during development, so this could still be removed (in the same way that it was in Grand Theft Auto V), but I think there’s a good chance that they’re onto something here.

Here’s hoping they’re right, because it looks cool as hell.
