Despite its overall popularity, it is hard to believe that many Star Wars projects have been cancelled over the years, whether that is in-between seasons or before they have even made it to the screen.
With the Star Wars franchise consisting of multiple movies, television shows, video games, comics and more, it is perhaps not surprising that many ideas and stories may struggle to stand up against the rest.
When it comes to Disney’s The Acolyte, a little tease is all fans got after the show was unceremoniously axed after its first season back in 2024.
It has been a year now since the final episode aired and yet fans are still eager for the story to continue in some shape or form, especially as the show hinted at a plotline following none other than Darth Plagueis himself.

However, it seems as though The Acolyte will receive no such renewal but that has not stopped fans from expressing their hopes over on r/TheAcolyte.
“A conclusion of the cliffhanger through moving comics or animation?” one user posted recently.
“What about moving comics or animation like Clone Wars? They can't just end like that.”
As you can imagine, fellow fans feel the same about the story being continued in some capacity and they took to the comments to share their thoughts.

“I'd love to see the series' story continue as a comic or novel,” the top comment reads.
“An animated follow-up would certainly be cheaper than live-action to make and I feel like most of the cast would be happy to come back and voice their own characters. I don't think any of it is very likely sadly but we can hope!”
A fellow user believes that a written conclusion may be best.
“I feel like a novel would be best in my opinion,” they shared.

“The original High Republic novels had a really good team of authors and I feel like if they were brought back to conclude the story, they’d know what they’re doing.”
At this moment in time, we do not yet know if The Acolyte’s story will continue but I have to say, a comic book continuation does feel incredibly likely; Marvel and Lucasfilm are regular collaborators, and this feels like a perfect story to adapt.
With an impressive fanbase still behind it, hopefully some creators will take note of The Acolyte's continuing demand.
