Skyrim: Forsaken Crypt is a small ‘expansion’ you can check out now

Can you make it out alive?

This latest mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is already proving to be a hit with the fans, who are praising it for feeling like something Bethesda designed themselves.

Forsaken Crypt from well-known Nexus Mods author Renacles adds a new radiant quest to Skyrim, complete with a fresh new story.

You're tasked with exploring a Nordic Ruin near Whiterun, which has randomly appeared after a nearby earthquake. Everyone who is sent to investigate ends up dead.

Can you make it through all of the enemies and traps, and make it back alive to give the Jarl your report? Might be a bit of a struggle by the sounds of some of the comments…

The story sounds great and all, but what do the commenters think of the mod on the whole?

Well, they love it.

“Excellent location, excellent layout, good difficulty balance for the area! in the best way this feels like a vanilla dungeon,” commented user bmmbooshoot.

“Fits seamlessly into the world and is a tidy little dungeon. Seriously a great location for a crypt like this. it's like...you could easily be fooled into thinking it was one of the nicer vanilla inclusions. It's JUST unique enough to stand out.”

“Well made dungeon! I collect these types of mods, always looking to add new, vanilla style locations here and there to spice up the radiant system for future playthroughs,” replied user Carbon14C.

“I ran through some of it with console codes and then stopped, didn't want to spoil it all for myself. But I like what I saw, felt very meticulous, detailed, and fits within the game.”

No spoilers, but a few of the commenters even spoke of some kind of secret hidden at the end of the dungeon.

I highly suggest you give this one a go without browsing through them, just in case you spoil whatever this big reveal is for yourself…
