Skyrim adds ‘psychedelic’ new dungeon you can explore now

If you’re looking for new content for the evergreen fantasy RPG Skyrim, then look no further than this fan-made DLC.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is, without question, one of the most popular video games of all time. Even since its original release in 2011, it’s been ported to every console generation, continually being a success for Bethesda.

Other than being a superb fantasy RPG in its own right, one of the main reasons this beloved entry in The Elder Scrolls series remains so popular is largely thanks to its ever-committed modding community.

Unlike some console games, the likes of Skyrim, Fallout 4 and Starfield all have mod support on Xbox. Sadly, however, Bethesda mod support is not available on PlayStation.

Hopefully, the modding community will keep us busy until The Elder Scrolls VI decides to grace us with its presence, and one mod that might do just that is created by Incaendo and is free to download now via NexusMods, called ‘The Psychedelic Caves’.

“Adds a new dungeon to the Reach. A cave system filled with colourful, colour-shifting bioluminescent cave plants, mushrooms and crystals,” reads the description of the mod. “Rock atronaches, shroom beetles and a few bandits are found within. A few hidden doors and loot can be found in these caves as well.”

As far as I can tell, ‘The Psychedelic Caves’ is a PC exclusive and is not available on Xbox. For the rest of us, we can play Skyrim as intended on PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is also available with an Xbox Game Pass subscription at no extra cost.

As for The Elder Scrolls VI, despite being announced at E3 2018 ( an event that no longer exists), it still does not have a release date at the time of writing.
