Now that July is here, we’re only a short time away from seeing Superman soar through the skies on the big screen, and this has everyone wondering, now that the DCU is kicking off, just when will we see Batman?
James Gunn hasn’t made any choices on who will snag the role of The Dark Knight for his DCU, but that hasn’t stopped fans guessing on who will put on the cowl and become our new Batman.
On Reddit, one fan is certain that the Batman casting will be “BS”.
Their thread starts with, “I'm starting to lose a bit of faith in James Gunn's casting choices,” and goes on to say, “From Kyle Chandler, a 60-year-old, officially playing Hal Jordan to possible Kumail Nanjiani being Booster Gold (I mean, come on), I fear he's gonna pull some BS for Batman.”

They end up wondering, “Is it so hard to cast good actors who actually look like the comic book characters?”
Of course, others were quick to jump in and answer that question.
Crow621621 said, “To answer your question, yes, it is hard to cast good actors who actually look like the comic characters. You can’t always have an RDJ Iron Man or a Hugh Jackman Wolverine.”
Another Redditor notes, “You got to get over movies not casting actors who look exactly like their comic book counterparts. If they did that, we would have missed out on many great performances. All that would do is limit roles.”

This is highlighted by several users remembering that Heath Ledger was thought to be a bad choice for The Joker, and look how that turned out.
“I'll probably wait until after I see a performance before judging the casting,” comments another DC fan.
It could be a few years until we finally know who will be the next Batman, and I’m sure the choice won’t please everyone.
