Some Steam users are having trouble logging into their accounts after a wide outage has been reported.
The Steam outage was reported earlier this morning, with the first reports coming in around 9 AM GMT according to DownDetector.
This escalated throughout the morning, with a larger influx of reports occuring around 11 AM GMT. As of 12:08 PM, 240 reports have been made on the website.
Steam down for hundreds of users
The issue seems to have affected players trying to access the Steam client on desktop, with many users reporting that they're met with a Loading User Data loading screen, and are unable to get past this screen to reach their game libraries.
Some say that waiting for a while on the Loading User Data screen eventually let them in, but others say this hasn't worked for them.

"Oh so it's not just me. On my birthday too. I just wanted to play," said one user on Reddit.
"Weird, purchased a game (key activation) and now I have the same issue. Feels like it's got something to do with activating a game?," another said.
"Tried to download a demo, kept getting an error, restarted and now i cant get past the same login screen," a third user said.
It seems as though users are still able to access the store and community pages on a web browser, but they're unable to access their game libraries from the Steam client on desktop. This may also affect access on devices that run Steam such as Steam Deck and Steam Machine.
We've tested this and the servers seem to be up for three of us, but many users believe the issues are primarily affected users located in Asia. However, it's possible this error could also be affected more people outside of this location.
Valve has not addressed the Steam server outage yet, so there's no estimated time on when the issues will be resolved. As always with these problems, we recommend trying again later if you're attempting to log onto Steam.
