Hold your horses, now.

The voice of Arthur in Red Dead Redemption 2, could be collaborating with the developer of the God of War series, based on this post to the actor's Instagram story.

As well as lending his voice to the character, Roger Clark provided the motion capture too, and received accolades for his conflicted yet compassionate performance as Arthur Morgan. The saga of Dutch's gang, travelling across what remained of the Wild West, is not one that players will forget for some time, and to prove that point, Red Dead Redemption 2 won the Game of the Year award in the Steam Awards last year. In spite of the numerous commendations for his work, Clark hasn't been credited in another video game role for more than two years now. That's completely chill, because it could be that Clarke is a discerning guy, and only wants to sign onto projects that he wholeheartedly believes in. It's not a bad approach, to be frank.

Nevertheless, fans are wondering when they'll hear from him again (in the literal sense of the phrase). An update to the actor's Instagram story seems to suggest that he might have worked with Sony Santa Monica in the past, and possibly on God of War 2. Not that God of War 2. The sequel to the 2018 soft reboot of the series. That one. Everyone up to speed now? It was only announced (albeit heavily rumoured) late last year, in one of Sony's PlayStation 5 showcases. Ergo, we would expect this to be a title that makes the most of the console's souped up specs, but there's room for it to be a cross-generational game like Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Horizon: Forbidden West, alternatively.

You might be asking, how are we connecting the dots between Roger Clark and God of War 2? Well, the actor shared career opportunities within Rockstar Games to his own social media accounts, and has praised Christopher Judge's performance as Kratos, as well as chatting to director Cory Barlog. Yes, absolutely, these examples could all be of a person who's friendly with their peers in the industry and encouraging of people who want to get their foot in the door.

But, the possibility of the esteemed actor appearing in one of the most anticipated games of this year is too enticing to ignore. God of War 2 is likely to have completed its recordings of voice and motion capture at this point, as the team work towards the release of the game. Clarke might have been keen to boost these job openings on behalf of Sony Santa Monica, due to a personal and professional connection with the project.

Once more, we'll reiterate that this report should be taken with a pinch of salt, as neither the actor nor the company have hinted at a partnership. Our fingers are crossed, boy.
