Star Wars officially reveals its next major villain

Step over to the dark side

The next big Star Wars villain has been revealed, and while it might not be quite what you’re thinking, they do look pretty badass.

Master Solitus will be the new villain, appearing in a show on Disney Plus called Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy - Pieces of the Past.

Little is known about this mysterious new Sith, and it’s interesting that they’re called Master Solitus, not Darth Solitus, as this is someone relatively new to the dark side of the force.

They appear on a new poster for the show, standing atop a pile of Lego bricks, brandishing two purple lightsabers.

He has greyish skin, a flowing black cape, and a menacing grin below burning red eyes, and I think he looks cool as hell for a Star Wars villain.

Solitus will be voiced by Dan Stevens, who, according to the blurb from Disney, is a “Jedi-turned-villain is the former master of Bobby Moynihan's Jedi Bob, aka Bobarian Afol, who debuted in the original Rebuild the Galaxy series.”

The blurb continues, “Solitus looks to be taking up a new role training Tony Revolori's Darth Dev.”

Revolori has previously worked with Disney as part of Spider-Man: Far From Home, and says of Solitus that he’s the master Dev has always been looking for.

Solitus will also appear in a new Lego set, where we can get a better look at him.

His lightsabers are connected by a chain, so we can imagine some nunchuck-style combat from him, and it’s a nice touch that haven’t given him red lightsabers, showing that he’s only recently fallen to the dark side.

This will be part of a noncanonical tale told, and though it would be nice to see Solitus turn up elsewhere, to see him, you’ll have to dive into this Lego adventure.

Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy - Pieces of the Past will premiere its four-episode season on Disney+ on 19 September.
