The Elder Scrolls VI be damned, because Skyrim isn't quite done yet thanks to this hefty new-gen refresh.
When we say “The Elder Scrolls VI be damned” it can mean several things, such as venting at the fact that we’ve been waiting over seven years since its announcement at E3 2018, and we’ve still not seen a gameplay trailer or know of its release date.
Thankfully, at least for our ever-thinning patience waiting for The Elder Scrolls VI to grace us with its presence, the words “be damned” is far more friendly in the instance of today’s story.
Despite originally being released in 2011 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, before it was ported to new systems in every console generation since, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a game that’s aged like fine wine.

To this day, fans of Bethesda’s fantasy RPG cannot stop having fun with Skyrim, and a large reason for that (other than being a great game) is its committed modding community.
One such mod is ‘Exquisite NPC’, created by AizenV, that’s free to download now via Nexusmods. What this mod essentially does is drastically improve the textures and animations of more than 1,190 NPCs in the game.
The screenshots on the ‘Exquisite NPC’ page showcase the massive improvements made. The only NPCs excluded from the upgrade are children, as well as “generic” guards, bandits and so forth.
Unfortunately, this mod is only available on PC and not the console versions of Skyrim.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. It’s also included with an Xbox Game Pass subscription at no extra cost.
As for The Elder Scrolls VI, we’ll update you when new information drops, but it might be safe to assume that it’s a next-gen title at this point.
