In a very shocking move, it seems one of PlayStation's biggest games is coming to Xbox on 26 August.
Helldivers II, which launched to massive audience figures after it dropped, sweeping up the world with a satirical look at warfare, and battling aliens, will launch on the rival console.
The news comes out of nowhere, and has been dropped without fanfare on social media, but this is a big step for a PlayStation title to be making its way to Xbox Series S and Series X.
The game won't be coming to Xbox Game Pass, and is currently listed for pre-order at $39.99.

Helldivers II became one of the biggest PlayStation games of 2024, so it’s no surprise that Sony is happy to push the game over to Xbox and garner even more players.
The PC launch didn’t go to plan with an insistence on using a PSN account to play the game, this has been rectified, and shouldn’t be an issue for the Xbox port.
If you’ve been living under a rock and have no idea what this game is, you play as a soldier fighting waves of aliens and cyborgs, protecting democracy throughout the galaxy.
As a multiplayer game that relies heavily on teamwork, we are hoping this new release comes with cross-play, in order to match up Xbox players with PC and PlayStation 5 users.

GAMINGbible’s Sam Cawley enjoyed his time with the game in his 8/10 review.
He said, “Playing Helldivers 2 almost makes you feel like you’re back in the golden age of online gaming, it’s pure, silly cooperative fun that offers a tailored experience for all kinds of players, whether you’re looking for something casual or your next big challenge.”
Is this a glimpse of the future? Will we see more of Sony’s big games making the jump?
