Fallout: New Hampshire is a big hit with fans

I've always fancied a visit, I must say

Fallout 5 is in development; beyond that, it’s impossible to offer any kind of update.

You see, Bethesda has a one-track mind.

It’s a studio that tends to focus on one major single-player release at a time.

It’s why The Elder Scrolls VI is taking so long; development only became the studio’s primary focus following the launch of Starfield, although there was a smaller team beavering away prior to that shift.

That’s likely where Fallout 5 is now, despite Bethesda having not offered any updates.

I’d imagine a small team is putting the barebones of the game together before it enters full production following The Elder Scrolls VI’s launch.

The problem is that The Elder Scrolls VI is likely several years away, placing Fallout 5’s launch even further beyond that.

The only consolation here is that the latest Fallout single-player title, Fallout 4, boasts a very talented modding community, so players can extend the base game via fan-made creations.

I’d like to highlight one of those creations, ‘Fallout New Hampshire’, to you today.

Created by NexusMods user Yogibird111, ‘Fallout New Hampshire’ takes the franchise to, you guessed it, New Hampshire.

If you’ve played the ‘Fallout Vermont’ mod, this is a follow on but don’t worry if you haven’t; it’s not at all required.

Essentially, players will find themselves in “another large-scale zombie themed” locale.

Your job is simple - stay alive.

Alongside zombies, you’ll also be dealing with a strange cult, and the mod features over 50 unique NPCs.

The developer cites Far Cry 5 and The Forest as two inspirations.

The mod has been around for a few months now and in that time, it’s garnered tons of praise from its thousands of downloaders.

“I love this mod,” read one simple comment.

“These environments are so good,” added another, while one player said, “Amazing, love both mods. Just need some Raiders or Gunners as other faction types, then you have a perfect TLOU-like game.”

That’s some high praise.
