Fallout games can be a tad hit-or-miss nowadays. A good example is the most recent game in the series, Fallout 76, which started out dire but has slowly salvaged its reputation and player base.
Of course, we're still waiting for Fallout 5, a game that’s not due anytime soon as Bethesda is sworking on its next AAA title The Elder Scrolls VI.
Fortunately, if there’s one thing Bethesda can rely on, it’s the community which regularly makes its own Fallout and Elder Scrolls adventures through mods and other creations.
While you’re probably expecting an expansion mod for Fallout 4 today, we’re actually going to talk about something a little different: the OG Doom games.

Fallout: Vault 666 was created in Doom Map Maker and blends the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout with the satanic boomer-shooter.
It features weapons and decor that you’d typically find in Fallout games, including a few Vault-Boys scattered around the map.
Lore-wise, this is clearly some sort of alternate universe where one of Vault-Tec’s bunkers was invaded by demons, killing off the vault-dwellers bar one.
It looks great but unfortunately you can’t play it yet as it’s not finished.

The map’s creator Carl Asami is still hard at work on bringing the map to life and promises much, much more in the finished version.
I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait though, and I’ll definitely be giving it a go when it’s playable.
Given that the Fallout and Doom games now fall under Xbox/Bethesda ownership, a crossover of sorts could be on the cards one day, or at the very least a few Easter eggs in Fallout 5.
Apparently the anthology series Secret Level pitched an episode that would have had the Doomslayer team-up with Master Chief from Halo but was rejected, a move that baffles me to this day…hopefully the powers that be have learned from that mistake.
