Tired of waiting for Fallout 5? Or Fallout: New Vegas 2? Or Fallout 3 Remastered?
Jeez, how many Fallout projects are rumoured to be in the works at the moment? I somehow feel like I’ve missed a couple as well.
Anyway, my point is that if you’re still patiently waiting for Bethesda to drop a new Fallout game soon, then you may be pleased to learn about the existence of Fallout: Bakersfield; a fan-made project that’s taking the best parts of the Fallout universe, and dropping them into DOOM.
Work on Fallout: Bakersfield began back in 2022, when both Alexander Berezin and Denis Berezin announced the project's existence online.

However, following an immediate wave of hype, updates on the game’s development suddenly went dark… until now.
Since revealing the first official trailer for the game at the end of July, the team behind Fallout: Bakersfield has been slowly drip feeding us content every few days– and the even newer trailer they have to show off today is probably the one that’s got me the most excited.
The new “Extended Gameplay” video shows off exactly how perfectly the OG DOOM blends with the Fallout aesthetic, because something about what I’m seeing just feels right. Honestly, you could tell me this is an official project from Microsoft themselves, and I’d believe you.
Also, the bit where the player goes to attack a ghoul with a 94% accuracy chance and misses– that’s some proper, authentic Fallout gameplay right there.

There’s no official release date for Fallout: Bakersfield yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear something from the team very soon (considering how polished the gameplay looks in the latest trailer).
In the meantime though, you can always keep an eye on the team’s Boosty page to keep up to date with the project (and donate, if you’re feeling generous).
