Fallout New Vegas New-Gen Remaster Looks Genuinely Astounding

Crisp, clear graphics

Bethesda is very much focused on The Elder Scrolls VI, as it should be.

Skyrim may have maintained a dedicated player base, but that’s not to say that we’re not all crying out for something new.

While Starfield is way more fun of a game than many would have you believe, it didn’t quite do enough to tear many Bethesda fans away from The Elder Scrolls.

Despite the hype surrounding the next instalment, there are also many keen for news on what’s next for Fallout, in terms of games anyway.

We already know that a second season of Prime Video’s TV adaptation will debut later this year, and Fallout 5 is believed to be in early pre-production.

It won’t arrive for many, many years though.

Seriously, we could be looking at 2030 or beyond, but could something surface in the meantime?

There was that rumoured Fallout 3 remaster, or perhaps Fallout: New Vegas could be revisited?

Well, one fan has dreamt up what Fallout: New Vegas might look like remastered and let me just tell you, it’s a thing of beauty.

This modded remaster was put together by technical wizard Digital Dreams who ran Fallout 4 using Beyond All Limits Raytracing and a ton of mods to make it appear more New Vegas-esque.

Those mods included ‘NAC X - NATURAL AND ATMOSPHERIC COMMONWEALTH 10 - Legacy Edition’ and ‘Project Mojave’.

You can take a look at the end result below.

“If this were a complete remaster, I'd play it for the nth time,” wrote one viewer,

“Would buy such a thing immediately,” added another.

While a full modlist isn’t available for you to completely emulate this project, Digital Dreams does have a free reshade preset which you can access from the video’s description.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I really do think modded Fallout is going to have to tide us over for at least a couple of years.

The sooner we accept that, the better.
