Hyper-Rare 'The Witcher 3' Quest Encounter Found After 600 Hours

The game that keeps on giving

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a ridiculously massive game positively heaving with things to see and do. I've played it through three separate times on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and there are still things some players have found that I've never experienced on my travels with Geralt.

If you need proof of this, look no further than Reddit user RogueRequest2. Despite having put more than 600 hours into CD Projekt RED's fantasy RPG (I thought my 300 hours was a lot), they've only just stumbled onto a quest they've never seen before. Better yet, most of the Witcher community responded to the video of the encounter with complete surprise too. The Witcher 3 really is the gift that keeps on giving.

"600+ hours, never encountered this troll before," wrote RogueRequest2 (via WeGotThisCovered). As you can see below, the meeting in question involves Geralt and a troll who likes to cook with various body parts.

It's hard to understand everything the troll is saying without subtitles, but I think the main takeaway is that he enjoys juicy elf heads in the same way you or I might chomp down on a fresh tomato. Lovely.

While this encounter is clearly super rare, there are a few players who've stumbled across it. It's called Harassing A Troll, and is an unmarked secondary quest tucked away in a corner of Velen. It's easy for players to miss, given that it doesn't show up on the map at all.

"I guess I never explored over there for some reason," RogueRequest2 said. "I just keep finding stuff and it's pretty awesome."

The beauty of The Witcher 3 is full of little surprises like this that go out of their way to reward only the most curious players. Following waypoints and quest markers is one thing, but only the most intrepid explorers will find everything the game has to offer.
