The Fallout franchise is one of the most beloved in video game history and with the television show bringing in another influx of players, fans are eager for more content.

The good news is that Fallout 5 is in development over at Bethesda but the bad news is that it is not expected to launch for a good few years, especially as The Elder Scrolls VI takes priority.

As a result, fans are returning to the original Fallout entries but with content running out and mods only cushioning the blow slightly, they are starting to feel fed up with the wait.

A discussion surrounding the long hiatus recently kicked off over on r/Fallout with one user posting, “I just want Fallout 5.

“I just really needed to complain and what better place to do it than Reddit.

I’m tired of waiting and I really just want Fallout 5 to be announced. I know it probably won’t be anytime soon but a girl can hope right?”

As you can imagine, this post soon opened the floodgates and fellow fans descended upon the comments with their own thoughts on the wait for Fallout 5.

“I've seen at least 300 articles over the last few years with the headline "Fallout 5 can wait", like no the f*ck it can’t,” one user shared.

Another user mentioned Fallout 3 Remastered which has not yet been confirmed but many insiders have claimed it will arrive sooner than we think.

“All we can do is hope and if we gotta go through a Fallout 3 remaster first, I would love that,” their comment read.

Others think, following the success of the Amazon Fallout show, that this would be the perfect time to have launched a new entry alongside.

“This is such a comically Bethesda thing to do,” one user wrote.

“Interest in Fallout is surely at an all-time high off the back of the TV series, and they have done nothing to capitalize on it.

This would have been the time to drop a new game, but no doubt the increased hype will have long died down by the time it's released.”

What we do know is that it will be many more years until we can finally get our hands on Fallout 5 so all we can do is wait and hope that Bethesda puts us out of our misery soon.
