Fallout 5 be damned, we're getting 'multiple' new Fallout games, apparently

The future is looking bright for Fallout fans

The wait for Fallout 5 continues but with Bethesda hard at work on multiple projects, it seems as though we may never get the next instalment in the beloved franchise.

Not only that but a recent report reveals that Bethesda is actually working on even more Fallout entries behind the scenes, one of which includes a potential Fallout 3 remaster.

Additionally, this news comes after the report of Bethesda parent company ZeniMax recently being hit with mass layoffs, including the departure of a studio director, as well as the cancellation of an upcoming MMORPG project.

Regardless, it seems as though the Fallout franchise will not be affected, at least according to Video Game Chronicle journalist Jordan Middler.

In a recent Friends Per Second podcast episode, Middler spoke about the future of the Fallout franchise, especially the rumours regarding a potential remaster for Fallout 3.

"There are multiple Fallout projects in development, including as far as I'm aware, the one you've all been wanting. But it's not far enough along to make an announcement that people will be playing it any time soon. Fallout 5 should've been day one, and they didn't bother,” he revealed.

"Much like Fallout, another franchise which is huge that they're doing nothing with at the moment, essentially. Fallout 76 exists, but the fact that Fallout 5 wasn't rushed immediately into production when that all happened, it's just crazy. They just have too many irons in the fire and it's all kind of coming home to roost.

"Fallout is the big one. I cannot believe that they didn't immediately start work on a Fallout 5. Because Todd's not going to make it, Todd's not doing the game, he's not going to make it to that point in life."

News of a Fallout 3 remaster has not been confirmed by Bethesda itself but with it being one of the most requested remakes by fans, it would be silly for it not to cash in.

Although it has not been officially confirmed, Fallout 3 Remastered was mentioned in the 2023 documents taken from the FTC vs Microsoft trial so who knows? Maybe this leak will actually come true.

Now it’s back to waiting.
