A new Fallout fan-made expansion takes players to the post-apocalyptic remains of Miami, and a new trailer is available now.

Fallout: Miami is a project in the same vein as last year’s Fallout: London. It’s an expansion-sized mod that takes Fallout 4’s engine and universe, but sets it in a completely new area.

With how long the wait for Fallout 5 is going to take, we’ll take what we can get at this point, but at least Fallout: Miami is showing a lot of great progress.

For the tenth anniversary of Fallout 4, the Fallout: Miami team released a new trailer on YouTube teasing the upcoming mod.

The trailer begins by showing off some locations from the post-apocalyptic remnants of Miami, with a radio DJ voiceover introducing us to the setting. We also get a look at some of the characters that appear in the mod.

The trailer also features Dion DiMucci’s 1961 song The Wanderer, which was a song that appeared in Fallout 4 but was removed in the Anniversary Edition update last month due to licensing issues with the song.

Fallout: Miami Takes The Series to the Sunny South

“The Sole Survivor journeys to the sunny South, following the promise of a well-paid job but ends up embroiled in a conflict between various groups, some vying for power, others fighting to uphold their ideals,” reads the official description for the mod.

“Fallout: Miami is a brand new world space with a gripping main quest, side-quests, equipment, settlements, and a host of interesting characters and companions! Uncover the truth behind the mysterious disappearances and participate in the age-old struggle between Order and Freedom.”

Fallout: Miami Team

The mod has been in development for over seven years, judging by how long it’s been since the first teaser released in 2018.

Even so, such a long development time is to be expected with mods of this scope, and it seems the team isn’t slowing down any time soon.

There are multiple roles being advertised on the Fallout: Miami website, with the team looking for roles ranging from 2D and 3D artists, to level designers and social media managers.

There’s no release date set for Fallout: Miami yet, so there’s no telling on whether 2026 will be the year.

Judging from the trailer, the mod is clearly far along in development and seems rather polished, but the team may still be expanding to make it worth players’ expectations.
