Fallout 5 honestly feels like a world away at this point, as Bethesda hasn’t started developing it yet as work on The Elder Scrolls VI isn’t finished.

Bethesda makes some incredible games so I’m more than happy with it taking all the time it needs on The Elder Scrolls VI, but as someone who’s always preferred Fallout it pains me to see things take so long.

Luckily Fallout players haven’t been forgotten about, as the second season of the Amazon Prime Video show is on the way and looks fantastic. It’s clearly taking a lot of inspiration from Fallout: New Vegas and I can’t wait to see what surprises are in store for Lucy and The Ghoul.

As for games though, there’s nothing official to speak of but that’s alright because Fallout: Bakersfield is the next best thing, hell it might even be better…

For those unaware Fallout: Bakersfield is a fan-made project that essentially turns the Fallout world into a Doom game.

With visuals inspired by the first two Fallout games before the series made the jump to 3D this first-person shooter is exactly the kind of project that deserves some recognition from Bethesda, as well as an official release.

Fans couldn’t agree more either as the game was recently praised on Reddit with many hyped to give it a try when its creator releases it into the wild.

“Honestly, Bethesda and other game companies should start making 3D games mixed with 2D like Bakersfield” read one comment. “Imagine a Fallout 1/2 remaster being similar to this: a 3D game with 2D graphics, a vast open world, more buildings, and more intelligent NPCs.”

“This legitimately looks like Fallout 1/2 as a FPS game, and it's breaking my brain. I didn't even know it existed until I started seeing screenshots in the last 48 hrs, but I want it” read another comment.

Every Fallout fan should be excited for Fallout: Bakersfield, and if you like this be sure to check out Fallout: Vault 666 as well…
