GTA 6 first gameplay has fans more excited than ever

The devil is in the detail

There is just under a year to go until we can finally get our hands on Grand Theft Auto VI but until then, eager fans are still diving into the trailers to get just a hint of what Rockstar may be working on.

Earlier this year saw Rockstar Games announce that Grand Theft Auto VI would be delayed from Fall 2025 to 26 May 2026.

Although this was a big blow to those who have been waiting for well over a decade to experience the next Grand Theft Auto entry, they also realise that perfection takes time and so they have turned their attention to the second official GTA VI trailer which Rockstar released as an apology.

Consisting of just under three minutes of brand-new content, fans were able to get a look at the Bonnie and Clyde-esque adventure which would see protagonists Jason and Lucia take part in a series of crimes across the state of Leonida and beyond.

However, it was the small moments that fans were most fixated on such as scenes of Jason driving, the lovebird pair hanging out at home, and them putting on their party clothes and going clubbing.

Another scene fans have focused on is the moment where Jason can be seen purchasing beer from a store and this little moment has already made fans realise that Rockstar is not playing around when it comes to the smallest of details.

Posted to r/GTA6, user MattTheMLGPro shared a screenshot of the moment in question and wrote, “If this scene is gameplay like Gameroll said, then do ya’ll think we’ll have to physically carry groceries, clothings and items bought from shops?

If so, I personally think that’ll be really cool and immersive.”

We don’t yet know if this will be possible but it has definitely got fans thinking in the comments.

“Maybe with specific items like the beer pack or some items which have more pieces,” one user suggested.

“With single items or clothing or whatever it wouldn’t really make sense tbh. Like you buy a jacket, where would you have to take it? To the safehouse? What if you are 6790 miles away?”

Another compared it to Red Dead Redemption 2 when they said, “Yes, it’s copied from RDR2 and improved a bit - you can carry in RDR2 different things around the camp like hay bells, sacks, water buckets - GTA 6 will most likely allow you to carry things.”

Luckily we don’t have long to find out the extent of this possible new feature as Grand Theft Auto VI releases on 26 May 2026.
