The Last Of Us meets God Of War in new game we need more than ever

Ok, this sounds interesting

An upcoming game from Naughty Dog is said to be a mixture of The Last of Us and God of War, claims a leaker.

If someone told us that a new game is on the way that is inspired by The Last of Us and God of War, it piques our interest. Especially if it’s a new game from the studio that also gave us Uncharted, none other than Naughty Dog.

During The Game Awards 2024, Naughty Dog announced its brand new game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, for the PlayStation 5.

“Intergalactic stars our newest protagonist, Jordan A. Mun, a dangerous bounty hunter who ends up stranded on Sempiria – a distant planet whose communication with the outside universe went dark hundreds of years ago,” wrote Naughty Dog's chief, Neil Druckmann, on the PlayStation Blog.

Not much else is known about Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, especially as we’re yet to see a proper gameplay trailer. However, as reported by TweakTown (via 4Chan), new details on the game may have leaked.

Before we start, the user who posted the “leaked” details on 4Chan has remained anonymous to avoid being discovered, so all the following information should be taken with a pinch of salt.

The leaker claims to have tested a quality and assurance build of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet on a PS5 Pro dev kit, and compared the gameplay to be similar to The Last of Us, God of War and Dark Souls.

Combat is said to be very “satisfying” with players able to string together combo attacks. Weapons can be used, enemies have weak points, and their limbs can be broken. Stealth will also be an optional approach.

They claimed it’s not an open-world game but does feature a “nested sandbox” with big areas that have fast travel checkpoints. It also has various layers of traversal, including parkour and gliding.

The planets will have tombs to explore with lore compatible with Elden Ring, and a heavy focus of its lore will be inspired by a religious apocalypse.

The bounty hunter protagonist, played by Tati Gabrielle, can interact with NPCs with a dialogue wheel, but dialogue choices are said to be “sparse”.

Finally, it is claimed that a new trailer will be showcased during The Game Awards 2025, and the internal launch window for the game is late 2026.

Again, take all of this information with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise.
