CD Projekt Red's much-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 has received another release date delay, as announced by the Polish developer and publisher on Twitter.
The Keanu Reeves-starring role-player was originally set to come out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (with next-gen versions following in due course) on April 16th - which, as you might've noticed, is in the past (although with the way 2020's been going, do any of us really know what day it is?). It was shifted from that date to September 17th 2020 in January, with multiplayer pencilled in for a 2021 roll-out.
Now, the game's slipped back by another two months. As CDPR explain in their post, the game is "ready when it's done", and it's not going to be ready in time to make a September release date. Instead, Cyberpunk 2077 will now release on November 19th - around the same time, we expect, as the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5.
CDPR says in its statement that Cyberpunk 2077 is "finished both content and gameplay-wise", but the studio still needs to "properly go through everything, balance game mechanics and fix a lot of bugs". Surprisingly, there's no mention regarding the impact of the coronavirus on this delay, but current working-from-home processes have surely played a part in the slightly slower fixing and balancing.

The studio says that it thinks this is the "right decision for the game", but offers its apologies to players eagerly expecting the game. It adds that the press is seeing more of the game this month (and yes, indeed, the press is - hello, we're part of the press) and that impressions from that preview will run on June 25th, after CDPR's Night City Wire broadcast.
