It's not exactly much of a secret that Call Of Duty is one of the most popular and successful video game franchises of all time. Since 2003, Activision's first-person shooter series has been a hit, only growing in popularity like a terrifying black hole of money that can never be filled.

Even when the franchise has an off year, it still manages to out-sell nearly every other video game that releases anywhere near it. It's an absolute juggernaut, and 2019's Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare has only put the series back at the very top, with help from 2018's Black Ops IIII. The 2016 and 2017 instalments were very much considered to be among the aforementioned "off years".

But exactly how much does the Call Of Duty franchise make per minute? I'm sure you've never found yourself asking that question because, well, why on Earth would you? Still, SlottyVegas has done the maths for you, crunching data from Nielsen Super Data, Esports Earnings, Forbes, and Social Blade to work out how much bacon Call Of Duty is bringing home.

It's a lot of bacon.

"We can exclusively reveal that Call Of Duty is making a staggering £2.4 million per day from physical purchases and online transactions," reads a press release. "That's just over £1,600 per minute. During the past 80 days of lockdown, Call Of Duty has earned £194,204,059.15, helped in large part by its Battle Royale offshoot, Warzone."

I couldn't even begin to imagine how amazing it would be to bring in £1,600 every minute. I'd probably feel comfortable retiring for the rest of my life after a half day, to be honest. Still, I don't own a universally loved video game franchise, so I can't really expect such riches. I'll just do what most of us do, which is work all year round for a fraction of that money and pretend I'm okay with it.

With Call Of Duty continuing to bring in vast piles of wealth, don't expect Activision to stop churning out new games annually any time soon.

While not yet confirmed, it's widely believed that the next Call Of Duty will be a reboot of the Black Ops series called Black Ops Cold War. Clearly inspired by the success of Modern Warfare's back-to-basics approach, it sounds like the new game will be a Cold War-era thriller that takes players back to the 1960s. Will it be successful? Yes. Obviously it will.
