CD Projekt RED's sci-fi RPG was infamously removed from sale by PlayStation following the swift and incredible backlash to the state of the game last year. While Cyberpunk 2077 ran well enough on PlayStation 5 consoles, the PlayStation 4 version of the game was a complete and utter mess, prompting thousands of refund requests and its ultimate removal from the storefront.
"Following our discussion with PlayStation, a decision was made to temporarily suspend digital distribution of Cyberpunk 2077," CDPR wrote in a statement at the time. The company stressed it would still be possible to buy the game on PlayStation via "brick and mortar" stores, and pledged to continue fixing the game and get it back on the PlayStation Store as soon as possible.
It's been a long few months, but CDPR has released a series of patches and updates that have gone some way towards improving the state of the game on base PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
It's unclear if this is as a result of those patches, but Cyberpunk 2077 can now be found once again in the PlayStation Store by searching for it by name. It appears with the tag "just announced"... although it doesn't look like it can actually be purchased right. I've checked on this myself, and Cyberpunk 2077 is indeed there, and I have the option to redownload, as I own the PS4 version digitally.
It seems if you don't already own the game, however, all you can do is wishlist it for now. What this means for Cyberpunk 2077's official return on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 is unclear, but it certainly seems as if it will be available again sooner rather than later.
We'll update this story as we learn more.
