Sony has announced that they’re in the midst of making specific improvements to the way the PlayStation Store works, but there’s a bit too much corpo-speak in this statement to take it all seriously…
When it comes to the big three, Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony, there is one way in which the Xbox storefront is massively superior: it’s full of a lot less junk.
If you’re a PlayStation 5 or a PlayStation 4 owner, you already know exactly what I’m talking about. The PlayStation Store is absolutely chocked full of shovelware and fake titles, and Sony has been mercilessly mocked for this over the past couple of years.
Although Sony has stated that they were already looking into the issue, the problem has barely improved. Browsing through the PS Store is still as much of a nightmare now as it was last year, although the silver lining is that it has, at least, not gotten worse.

However, as spotted in an article by PlayStation Lifestyle's Zarmena Khan, it does seem that Sony is implying that it is something they’re still in the midst of fixing… eventually.
In a post on the Sony Interactive website titled “Evolving the PlayStation Store experience”, the publisher details a bunch of different ways in which they’ve attempted to fix the storefront for players (including the implementation of their rating system).
While the post mostly just seems to be aimed at investors of the PlayStation brand, rather than the consumers themselves, it does note at the end that players should “keep an eye out for even more improvements” in the future.
It’s a bit of a vague sentiment, but hopefully it does mean that they are ramping up to finally fix the issue at hand.

It’ll be about three years too late by the time they do, but hey… better late than never?
