The lead actor in the Star Wars series The Acolyte has revealed his hopes for the series’ future in a recent interview, and whether or not we’ve “seen the last” of his character… and his answer was surprisingly optimistic.
Whether or not you loved The Acolyte, I think there are two very fair assessments you can make of the Star Wars series.
Firstly, it wasn’t particularly well-received when it premiered. While it may have its die-hard fans, the Disney+ show was extremely divisive amongst the fan base.
Secondly, and most importantly, I think it’s widely accepted that Manny Jacinto, who played Qimir/The Stranger, was the best part of The Acolyte by a country mile.

The fans of the show are relentless in their desire to have The Acolyte renewed, but it’s pretty clear that the series was far too expensive (and far too much of a financial failure) for Disney.
However, is there a chance we’ll see The Stranger pop up in a new Star Wars series or film down the line?
As detailed in an interview by ScreenRant, Joe Deckelmeier asked Jacinto about how he feels the show will age in time (in comparison to the prequel trilogy), and whether or not it was "the last" we've seen of his character in the Star Wars universe.
“I mean, I hope not. I truly hope not. I would love nothing more [than] to run it back”, Jacinto replied.

“You make a really great point. I feel like with The Prequels, I mean, I grew up on The Prequels as well, and you know, as a kid, you watch that, and you're just in awe of it. And then we grow up, and then now we have money...and we have more confidence as well, and we're able to voice our opinion. So I do hope that, you know, it finds new life, or it continues to find the love... I just hope it continues, and we'll see. Never say never.”
Jacinto’s reply comes off as oddly encouraging to me, as if perhaps he’s already been in talks to reprise the role down the line.
Personally I do think it would be a huge waste to not use The Stranger in the future, and Disney would be silly to pass on the opportunity to have Jacinto in another project down the line, considering how quickly he’s rising in fame.
