It may have been almost a decade since Dark Souls III was released but its popularity, and the popularity of the series as a whole, has not dwindled in the slightest.
The FromSoftware franchise which kicked off back in 2011 with the launch of Dark Souls has become a cornerstone of gaming with many newer releases taking inspiration from its iconic combat and engaging storytelling.
Spanning across three entries and ending with Dark Souls III in 2016, the series created by Hidetaka Miyazaki continues to have a dedicated legion of fans so it is no surprise that such fans are finding ways to improve the game decades after their release.
That is the case for Loreciao over on Nexus Mods who has created the Modern Dark Souls III Experience.

The free-to-download mod aims to add a quality-of-life overhaul to Dark Souls III which will bring new life to the 2016 game by “changing, improving, and adding new features to the game, all whilst staying vanilla friendly”.
Modern Dark Souls III Experience includes multiple new features including weapon and progression rebalancing, a ring to restore FP over time, and even some slight class readjustments.
More specifically, there will be tweaks to bows, arrows, and bolts including increased range and projectile speed as well as slight homing to help track moving enemies.
Most excitedly perhaps is the ability to now hold up to 250 ammunition compared to the limit of 99 in the base game.
