Elon Musk And Cybertruck Modded Into 'GoldenEye' Is Nightmare Fuel

Elon Musk And Cybertruck Modded Into 'GoldenEye' Is Nightmare Fuel

For Tesla, Elon? No. For the memes.

It's 10pm on a Saturday night in 1997; way past your bedtime. You and your best friend are huddled close to an old CRT television with an N64 hooked up and you're surrounded by your favourite snacks. GoldenEye 007 is on.

Also, Elon Musk is there.

Tesla's Cybertruck has undoubtedly become one of the top memes of November since its announcement this month. That blocky, low-polygon frame and shiny '90s colour palette sparked something deeply nostalgic in a lot of people. Tesla's billionaire founder and CEO Elon Musk was quick to capitalise on this free publicity (because he's an absolute madlad) and the Cybertruck has increased in popularity thanks to his embracing of said memes. Maybe he even did it for the memes, we'll never truly know.

At any rate, YouTuber Graslu00 took it upon themselves to take the memeing one step further, modding old Musky and the Cybertruck into GoldenEye 007. The results are obviously horrifying.

While the Cybertruck fits pretty seamlessly into GoldeneEye's aesthetic, Elon Musk... looks like he was dragged from the deepest depths of your nightmares to rain chaos on the video game world. It's easy to forget that GoldenEye's character models did actually look pretty ropey, but they surely never looked that bad, did they?

The mod has you riding through the 'Streets' level of the game, where James Bond would normally take control of a tank. Instead, he joyrides through the streets of St. Petersburg in the Cybertruck, squishing communists and shooting rockets along his journey. Great scene in the movie by the way, peak Pierce Brosnan.

Normally this would be the part of the article where I tell you when a game is coming out or what console you can play it on. So, GoldenEye 007 is on the Nintendo 64 and you can pick it up in 1997 when the game first released. If you're looking to pick up a Cybertruck for yourself, however, you can do that by going to the Tesla website where they start at just under $40,000. Go on, buy one. Do it for the memes.
