'Black Ops Cold War' DLC Roadmap Confirms Nuketown, And Classified 'Warzone' Experience

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War doesn't launch until next week (November 13th), but Activision is already looking to the future of the first-person shooter. The publisher recently outlined some of what to expect when the first season of post-launch content goes live on December 10th, but ahead of that, old-school Call Of Duty fans have something very exciting to look forward to.
Yes, it's been confirmed via the post-launch roadmap below that the fav-favourite map Nuketown will be Black Ops Cold War's first free DLC map. Called Nuketown '84, a reference to the time period the game is set in, the map will largely be the same as the various other iterations of Nuketown - likely with one or two key differences.
Unfortunately we'll have to wait and see what those differences are, as all Activision is giving away right now is the image of a bus covered in graffiti, and what looks like sand. Black Ops Cold War will add Nuketown '84 to the game on November 24th, so we don't have too long to wait to see the classic map reimagined.
While a little light on details, the rest of the Season One roadmap confirms more multiplayer maps and modes will be making their way to the game. 2v2 Gunfight, a popular mode introduced in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare will also be returning, in addition to new weapons, new Zombies modes, and "much more".
On top of all that, Activision is teasing a "classified" Warzone experience. What on Earth could this be? The most likely scenario is, of course, that December 10th will finally see us wave goodbye to Verdansk and head towards a brand-new map that's closer in tone and style to the free-to-play battle royale.
We already know that Warzone will be integrated with Black Ops Cold War's first season from December 10th in terms of weapons, progression, and the like, and we've seen a few teases and leaks now that all but confirm a massive new map inspired by a snow-dappled Russia.
The four new zones for the battle royale were uncovered in a datamine a few months back, before seemingly being corroborated by an official Black Ops Cold War trailer. The four zones are called Duga, Forest, Russia, and Ski Slopes. While the latter three are fairly self explanatory, Duga is perhaps the most interesting, as it references an early-warning missile system facility that the Soviets operated between 1976 and 1989.
Whatever Black Ops Cold War has planned for Warzone, it'll more than likely make for some pretty substantial changes. If I were you, I'd enjoy Verdansk while you still can - who knows how much longer it'll be around?
