Fear the old blood.

FromSoftware's critically-acclaimed PlayStation 4 exclusive Bloodborne is getting a remaster, according to new reports. It's being rumoured that Bluepoint Games, who worked on the Shadow Of The Colossus PS4 release, will be bringing the gothic horror to PlayStation 5 and PC.

Rumours of a Bloodborne PC port have been swirling for a while now, but things really took a turn when streamer CaseyExplosion offered to donate $100 to a racial justice charity in exchange for "juicy" details about a possible Bloodborne remaster for PS5 and PC.

Not long after putting out this call, Casey claimed to have heard from a "trusted" source at Sony that the remaster was definitely happening. It sounds as if Sony was planning to announce this remaster as part of the PlayStation 5 event that was scheduled for June 4th, before being pushed back in response to the ongoing protests against racism and police brutality in the US.

However, given that Casey wouldn't share specific details about exactly who gave them these details, it's hard for us to say for sure exactly how legitimate these claims are. A YouTuber known as PC Gaming Inquisition later claimed that the port was real, and is being developed between Bluepoint and QLOC, who worked on Dark Souls Remastered.

If you'll allow me to lay my cards on the table early: I love Bloodborne. I do. I absolutely bloody adore it. It's my favourite FromSoftware game to date, and easily one of my top ten personal favourite games of all time. That's why I'm particularly excited about this news.

The idea of replaying Bloodborne on PS5 excites me greatly, as I'm sure you can tell. But perhaps more delicious is the idea that PC users - an entirely different section of gamers - will be able to play one of the best PlayStation 4 games. I'm thrilled for them, truly I am.

I also hope that, assuming the remaster is real, this means that Sony is considering working with FromSoftware again. I've said it before but I'll say it as many times as I need to: we need Bloodborne 2 on PlayStation 5. And by "we", I mean "I".
