If you’re an RPG fan, then I have a free treat on Steam that you might be interested in checking out.
The RPG is upcoming, you guessed it, RPG - and a free taster of what you can expect in the full release has dropped over on Steam.
Developed by Dionysus Acroreites and published by Catoptric Games, The RPG: My First Dungeon Smells is an "introductory free short chapter".
From what I can gather, the opening to this tale tasks you with finding out why your dungeon is so stinky; is that a question any of us want answered?

The RPG sets itself by being an RPG without any sense of grind.
You don’t need to eat food to heal, for example. You can just “pluck a piece of bread into a wound”.
When it comes to your inventory, you won’t have to sift through deciding what to sell to merchants.
All loot is listed simply as “loot”. This will be tracked by weight and you’ll be able to sell off some of the weight.

There are no skill trees, but you will be able to skill up, and there are reportedly no fishing minigames if those bother you.
The description also states that the dragon, the main antagonist, "constantly glitches and breaks the game's rules”, which is apparently a good thing … with players encouraged to find out why.
All progress from the prologue will be carried over to the full game when that launches which is always good to hear.
Already, this snippet has received a ‘Very Positive’ review score on Steam, with 96% of the reviews being positive. That’s very impressive.

“Didn't realise this was meant as a first chapter experience at first, but the amount of content you get and how fun it was to play, has definitely made me excited to try out the full game when it comes out,” wrote one reviewer.
“Had a blast - scratched my RPG itch nicely. Funny and polished experience,” added another.
“Satirical, simple, not trying to be anything else but itself. Very cute fourth wall breaking adventure, with a very great start to it! Try it out for yourself since this'll be a perfect way of seeing what's soon to come,” a different review read.
With praise like that, how can you not try this free experience out?
