New 'The Witcher 3' Quest Continues The Story Of 'Blood And Wine'

A brand-new quest for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been released, and it picks up exactly where the excellent Blood And Wine expansion left off back in 2016.

Created by superfan and modder nikich340, 'A Night To Remember' is available to download for free right now through NexusMods. As you can see from the trailer below, this is a seriously impressive effort that makes clever use of existing voice lines and cutscenes to create a new adventure for Geralt that feels completely new.

"A Night to Remember is a completely new adventure featuring characters new and old," reads the official description. "You can enjoy new writing, cutscenes, voice acting, assets, a special reward, and some difficult decisions."

This new quest picks up right after Blood And Wine, so you'll need to have beaten the main story of the expansion. nikich340 also recommends you play through (or at least watch on YouTube) the quest 'Blood Simple' to avoid "spoilers and misunderstandings".

As a huge fan of The Witcher 3 who has played the base game and both expansions to death, I'm kind of hyped to give this a go. Blood And Wine may not be where we leave Geralt canonically, but the last time I saw him will always be sunning it up in the rolling green hills and ripe vineyards of Toussaint.

The good news is that more Witcher action is definitely on the way from CD Projekt RED. As part of a recent Strategy Update presentation (thanks, IGN), the studio confirmed that it will effectively split development efforts in two so that it can develop new Cyberpunk and Witcher adventures simultaneously. That's The Witcher 4 all but confirmed, then.

Of course any official news on a brand-new Witcher title will be years off at this point. For now, then, let's just be grateful there are fans like nikich340 out there giving us new content for free.
