Steam quietly drops 4 wonderful free games you can keep forever

An RPG, an MMORPG, a horror, and a platforming game walk into a bar

Did someone order four new free-to-play games? That’s exactly what’s on offer on today’s Steam menu.

PC users can now add four more free titles to their backlogs courtesy of Steam, and I’m here to once again guide you through the latest store additions.

As always, shoutout to SteamGamesPC for bringing these to our attention.

There’s a few highly rated titles today, including The RPG: My First Dungeon Smells.

Advert

Unlike some of the other titles on this list, this one’s a free prologue chapter from the full release of The RPG.

Developed by Dionysus Acroreites, the game seemingly has you investigate why your dungeon is so stinky.

I’m not sure I’d like to know the answer.

It’s an RPG through and through, albeit without any grinding elements; you don’t need to eat food to heal or sort through a stacked inventory. You’ll simply hold ‘loot’.

Advert

Already, 96% of players have rated this one as ‘Very Positive’ so I’d say it’s well worth giving a go.

If MMORPGs are more your thing, then FAT SLU have launched Naica Online.

“Naica is a 8bit fantasy cross-platfrom MMORPG where you take on the role of a lowly adventurer trying to assist those in peril,” the synopsis reads.

“Fight, collect or explore what the world of Naica has to offer, secrets lie behind every corner. The world needs your help adventurer, will you answer the call?”

Advert

This one has a ‘Mostly Positive’ rating, and that’s from 72% of players so it sounds like another title worth checking out.

For the horror fans, there’s Dogma from developer Dogma Team.

This is a first-person Chinese horror where you’ll return to your ancestral home “to decipher cryptic family rules”.

Doing so will involve shifting between realms and collecting cursed relics.

Advert

I’m not entirely sure what horrors those relics unleash, but I’m not brave enough to find out.

Finally, you may want to download and enjoy Batta? Batta!, a platformer where you play as a battery.

This one comes from the aptly named Team Battery.

“Welcome to the distant world of discarded objects, where the old and worn-out envy the new. One day, the discarded items kidnapped the beloved Princess Smartphone, known for her charm! You become an ordinary yet special battery, setting off on an adventure to rescue the princess,” its synopsis reads.

All of these games are available to hop into and enjoy right now, so give them a whirl.
