Wait, wait, wait, before you start on your spring cleaning, remember to keep hold of your PlayStation 3 games, okay? Because as it turns out, some PS3 titles are now going back up in price as they become harder and harder to find.

There is a point in every gaming console lifecycle where it stops being the young, hip tech that it used to be. As the PlayStation 4 grew in popularity, so the PS3 faded into the background. Now, though, PS3 games have come back with a vengeance - and some of them are worth much more than their original prices.

According to Ghetto Gamer, who has done a lot of research on the matter, some vintage PS3 games were due to explode in price and, well, it's happened. Ghetto Gamer started buying a few uncommon games here and there with specific characteristics to see if the games would explode in value - and for 3D Dot Game Heroes the theory came true. Ghetto Gamer bought the title for $25, and now on eBay you can comfortably see new copies of the game selling for over $100.

The game Splatterhouse on PS3 is seeing similar results - bought for $25 and selling on eBay for $90. And Ghetto Gamer even shows how a brand-new, professionally graded Puppeteer can now go for up to $625 on eBay too, which is a massive return on a cheap purchase.

So, if you've got PS3 games stashed away still, take a look at what you're working with. Dust them off, put them somewhere safe and make sure you don't get rid of them yet. Down the line, they might be worth a pretty penny if they're in good condition.
