GTA VI fans are celebrating a long-awaited vehicle addition that could make Rockstar Games’ open-world sequel feel more immersive, while also having huge implications for the future of GTA Online 2.
Despite its humour and satirical take on real-life pop culture, Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto series has long been renowned for delivering some of the most immersive open worlds in gaming. That evolution arguably peaked with GTA V, but GTA VI looks set to take things to an entirely new level when it arrives this November.
The GTA VI Extended Look gave fans an even closer look at Rockstar’s modern take on Vice City, bringing the iconic location to life in ways we’ve never seen before in the Grand Theft Auto series. From its stunning visuals to the sheer number of NPCs seemingly going about their daily routines, GTA VI’s world looks packed with life both on and off the road.
GTA 6’s larger vehicles could open up new possibilities for GTA Online 2
In GTA V, players can travel as passengers in vans, but the experience is fairly limited. In Story Mode, passengers can only ride in vehicles when the game allows it, while GTA Online lets another player take the wheel with passengers sitting in designated seats. In most cases, a van can accommodate up to four players.
However, GTA VI appears to be introducing larger vehicles that could significantly expand those possibilities. As Reddit user yamaykamen pointed out, the GTA VI Extended Look appears to feature larger vans similar to the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, a vehicle available in real life in configurations capable of carrying far more passengers than a conventional van.

“GTA V didn’t really have bigger vans like the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, so seeing vehicles like this in GTA VI is such a nice detail. It makes the world feel so much more alive and realistic,” said yamaykamen. “It’s such a small thing, but stuff like this can make the game feel way more believable.”
While GTA Online currently supports sessions of up to 30 players, many of its co-op missions are designed around smaller groups of two to four players. We don't yet know how GTA Online 2 will approach co-op activities, but larger vehicles could allow Rockstar to dramatically expand multiplayer experiences.

Just imagine a GTA Online 2 heist involving 10 or 12 players, with the entire crew piling into a large van before pulling up outside a bank. Everyone could storm out simultaneously, turning the opening moments of a heist into something that feels closer to a scene from Heat, the legendary crime thriller starring Robert De Niro and Al Pacino.
And, naturally, things wouldn't stay that organised for long.
Once the heist inevitably goes wrong, players could fire through the van's windows while escaping from law enforcement, before the rear doors swing open and more members of the crew pile out to continue the firefight. With police closing in and the Wanted Level climbing, these larger vehicles could become much more than simple additions to GTA VI's traffic; they could become an important part of how players experience GTA Online 2.
Here’s what GTA 6 fans are saying about the game’s larger vehicles
“Honestly, I am pretty excited for this,” exclaimed tertiary_jello.
“I wonder if bigger vehicles mean you can store more weapons/loot/bodies,” asked Miniri0t.
“Finally - I haven't had a good getaway car since the Pony or Moonbeam in GTA III,” said San-Pellegrin0.
“Really hoping some of the bigger vehicles like vans, trucks, boats, and planes will have interactive/walkable interiors,” added Kaleo5. “I really want to chill out in a camper van or boat in this game.”
“The fact that buses are finally actual road traffic that you can ride to transit the city is a big step up I'm excited about,” declared GameDrain.
Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The next iteration of GTA Online hasn't been revealed yet.
