At Last, You Can Milk The Animals In 'Skyrim'

At Last, You Can Milk The Animals In 'Skyrim'

No longer look at those cows and goats selfishly hoarding their swollen milk glands, lay hands upon them!

"Have you ever wanted to simply walk up to a cow in a farm and milk it to stave off death?". It's a bold question to open a mod description with but, yes, mod creator lightningo, berticus0001, and thakyZ, I have. I've often looked at farm animals and thought about milking them for their life-sustaining nectars. Finally, thanks to the Simple Cow and Goat Milking mod for Skyrim, you can recreate such scenes in a digital world.

Whether you want the milk to down immediately, throw at guards, or simply for extra crafting material, there's now a mod for you. You can milk any domesticated cows and goats once a day to receive a jug of milk. You won't need to simply picture this in your mind's eye, either, as there's even an animation of your character getting down on their haunches to work the nips.

Appropriately, the screenshot advertising the mod features a Khaajit, the milk-lapping feline fiend of Tamriel. Bet they love a bit of milking.

You can only milk each animal once a day, if you try going at the same animal twice you'll be met with a "a simple message telling you off". Also, don't go trying to tug them wild goats as "You can't milk wild goats and frankly you shouldn't try," the mod's description reads.

Now, naturally, this mod already sounds perfect. But the modders have big plans for future updates. They're currently thinking about "the ability to milk mammoths". Of course, mammoth's don't give out your regular garden variety milk, they're going to drop mammoth milk which is a vital component in mammoth cheese.

Finally, Skyrim mods are moving in a direction I can get behind.
