Dr Disrespect rates Starfield out of 10, ruffles some feathers in the process

The famous internet personality, Dr Disrespect, has given Starfield his personal rating, and it’ll surely upset some people.

Famous internet personality Dr Disrespect has given Starfield his personal rating, and it’ll surely upset some people.

Dr Disrespect, like many Bethesda fans, has spent the last few days exploring the highly-ambitious open-world RPG Starfield.

Check out our review of Starfield below.

As Bethesda’s first brand-new IP in years, as well as a major Xbox exclusive that many PlayStation fans are still salty about, there was a lot riding on the game’s success.

On paper, Starfield has had a very successful launch, garnering plenty of brilliant reviews from critics, contributing to a sales increase for Xbox Series X consoles, and having over 2 million players on Xbox and PC from early access alone.

For fans though, it hasn’t exactly been the once-in-a-lifetime experience many were hoping for. While people are enjoying the game, there are several in-game mechanics and activities that have rubbed people the wrong way, mostly the galaxy exploration being a let-down and classic Bethesda bugs working their way into playthroughs.

As for Dr Disrespect though, the streamer has put a good few hours into the game, and after a bizarre reaction to the character creator’s option to change your avatar’s pronouns, finally shared his thoughts, as well as a score out of 10.

On a recent stream, he was asked about his thoughts so far, and said: “I love Bethesda games man, I never played Fallout ... Morrowind and Skyrim and Oblivion, those were good but the pacing on this one is just a little … I feel like I'm in the menus in this game all the time and using dialogue all the time and then docking, undocking but I like the art, I like the aesthetic, I like the storytelling, combat's a little repetitive. Yeah, I'm gonna give it a 7.1 that's where I'm at right now.”

Not a bad score, though it’s sure to ruffle some feathers of many Starfield fans. Some claim the game gets significantly better if you stick with it long-term, and some even say it’s infinitely better when you hit New Game+.

Starfield is available right now for Xbox Series X/S and PC, as well as downloadable via Xbox Game Pass.
