Starfield has already passed a major milestone, surpassing 2 million players worldwide according to the latest stats.

Today’s the day, Starfield has officially launched for everyone who didn’t pay for early access. Standard Edition owners and Xbox Game Pass subscribers can finally embark on their intergalactic adventure, and join the millions of players who are already there.

That’s right, I said millions, as despite the Premium Edition of the game costing significantly more than the base version, it hasn’t stopped fans from seizing the opportunity to see everything the game’s galaxy has to offer early.

According to the latest stats from PlayTracker, the early access version of the game amassed a whopping 2 million players. Announcing the stats in a tweet yesterday, PlayTracker said: “Based on our user sampling data so far, PlayTracker estimates #Starfield has far surpassed the 1M player milestone on both Steam and XBOX with just the Premium Edition buyers. Sampling data comes in slowly, with a delay. Full launch is tomorrow, we'll be watching the fireworks.”

The hype for Starfield has been reflected through Xbox sales as well. In the build-up to its release, many claimed that they’d be buying an Xbox Series X, or the more affordable Xbox Series S, just to play Bethesda’s new IP.

Recent sales figures for the Xbox Series X have corroborated this claim, as sales of the Microsoft console on Amazon skyrocketed by 1000% when the game hit early access.

Pair that with a number of glowing reviews for the title, including our own review which you can check out here, and it’s been a pretty successful launch for Bethesda so far.

If you’re stuck on PlayStation 5 and are disappointed you can’t try Starfield don’t worry, another incredible RPG has dropped on your system today as well, Baldur’s Gate 3.

For Xbox fans though, Starfield is available right now, either through the Xbox digital store or via Game Pass.
