The PlayStation Future Of Gaming event has now been rescheduled for Thursday, June 11th. Sony confirmed the news last night, and revealed that the hour(ish)-long stream will commence at 9pm BST.

"Now that the event is confirmed for June 11th, I wanted to add that this pre-taped program will be broadcast at 1080p and 30 frames per second," Sid Shuman, senior director for SIE Content Communications wrote on the PlayStation Blog.

"This eased the show's production process during a time when many of our team and developers are working from home. The games you'll see on Thursday will look even better when you play them on PS5 with a 4K TV, as you'd expect."

Shurman also advised that we wear headphones to watch the show, as there's some "cool audio work" we won't appreciate if we just watch through our speakers.

As I'm sure you're aware, the event was originally supposed to take place last Thursday, on June 4th. However, Sony made the decision to delay the show in light of the Black Lives Matters protests taking place across America, stating that it was to "allow more important voices to be heard".

Sony's PlayStation division has also pledged to donate $1 million to various causes supporting the black community. In an interview with CNET, Sony Interactive Entertainment President and CEO Jim Ryan said that it was time for the company to do more.

"There are moments in life when something happens around you and you realize that what you've been doing is either not big enough, not good enough, or just wrong," he explained. "This is such a moment. We are going to take a good hard look at how we behave as a company, and how we behave towards our community."

The PlayStation 5 event was finally announced on May 29th, and promises to give us a look at a number of the games we'll be playing when the PlayStation 5 launches later this year. It's unclear whether we'll get a look at the console itself in addition to the games, but it's understood that Sony has more events planned throughout Summer that will no doubt answer any questions we've been left with after Thursday's show.

We have no idea what's in store for us on Thursday, but it's believed that we'll see a little bit more of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Recent reports also suggest that we might be getting a Bloodborne remaster - although I'm rather more hoping that we get Bloodborne 2.
