A modder has successfully ported Dark Souls into The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, combining both games into a single unified experience.
TwilightSouls is a new mod which brings over the map, enemies, and bosses of Dark Souls into the engine of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
Unlike the recent āpassthrough moddingā phenomenon which uses LLMs to combine two different games into one, such as putting Minecraft into GTA 5, mod creator Artholos claims that no AI has been used in the development of this mod.
The mod uses Dusklight, the unofficial PC decomp of Twilight Princess, as a foundation, and the aim is for all three Dark Souls games to be ported over.

While around 95% of the mod is content from Dark Souls, the player character is still Link, and stuff like the controls, combat, and UI is still Twilight Princess. Think of it as a total conversion mod which puts Link into Lordran.
Thereās already a demo available for players to try if they wish, which you can grab from Artholosā own website for free.

Twilight Souls has a free demo available now
The demo features the Undead Asylum and Firelink Shrine which, as all Dark Souls players will know, is the opening of the game and gives you a taste of the combat and exploration.
After reaching Firelink Shrine, you can go back to the Asylum to fight the black knights and pit commander Stray Demon. Thereās also a selection of armour ready for Link to use, including all of his outfits and the Elite Knight armour.
Similar to Dark Souls, the mod also includes full stat implementation where you can level up at the bonfire to see immediate results. Some improvements you can make include being able to increase the attack rating for weapons using strength and dexterity.
Artholos also says that quality of life changes from Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring are also present, including a much nicer expanded inventory.
Since the mod runs on Dusklight, youāll need to own the GameCube version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess in order to run it (this won't work with the Wii version). Youāll also need a copy of Dark Souls Remastered on PC.
From here, Artholos intends to add in the rest of the areas from Dark Souls that are missing, meaning weāll soon hopefully get to see areas like Anor Londo, Undead Burg, and the Catacombs. Iād also love to see Link hyah his way through Blighttown.
As the modder previously claimed, AI was not used to develop Twilight Souls unlike the recent modding phenomenon which has seen modders use LLM programs like Claude and ChatGPT to combine two games, resulting in abominations such as Sonic running around in GTA Vās Los Santos, or adding movement from Apex Legends into Minecraft.
