The excitement is building ahead of Grand Theft Auto VIâs imminent launch on November 19.
Itâs unlikely Rockstar Games has too many surprises left in store. Itâs already unveiled the gameâs soundtrack, collectorâs box, merchandise, in-game radios, and more.
Perhaps all thatâs left to address is a possible PC port and the future of GTA Online, but those reveals probably arenât going to arrive this side of the gameâs launch.
Capitalising on all of this hype, PlayStation Plus has surfaced with an early update on a change to the service thatâs due in November.
Advert
PlayStation Plus has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto V will be departing the service just a few days ahead of GTA VIâs launch.
In a pop-up message issued to PlayStation users, PlayStation said, âPlay Grand Theft Auto V now with PlayStation Plus.â
âIf youâre counting down the days until Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on PS5 on November 19, why not take a trip to Los Santos in the meantime?â
It continued, âGrand Theft Auto V is available to play in the Game Catalog for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members, but only until November 17.
âSo whether youâve yet to experience the tale of Franklin, Michael and Trevor, or want to revisit it before Jason and Luciaâs Vice City story begins, nowâs the time.â
The pop-up then offers PlayStation Plus users the option to pre-order GTA VI or play GTA V on the subscription service.
Itâs definitely achievable to roll credits on GTA V before it departs PS Plus
We wonât find out the rest of Novemberâs departing games for some time.
Octoberâs Extra and Premium tier additions are due to be unveiled on Wednesday, October 14.
In some territories, theyâll then land just under one week later on Tuesday, October 20.
In the US, UK, and Japan, PlayStation Plus continues to opt for a phased rollout, with the arrival date of each game to be confirmed alongside the line-up reveal on October 14.
When the Extra and Premium tier additions do arrive or begin to rollout from October 20, thatâs when Novemberâs departing games will be announced.
This gives players around one month to enjoy them, but at least you get an early heads-up on GTA V.
One game that is already confirmed to be joining the Extra tier in October is Mycopunk, with the day one release having been confirmed earlier this year at a State of Play.
Mycopunk is a co-op looter shooter that Borderlands and Helldivers players should get a kick out of.
The title is arriving on October 20 and this will mark Mycopunkâs arrival on PS5; the game is currently in early access on PC and will enter its 1.0 on the same day.

Back to GTA V, according to HowLongToBeat, GTA Vâs main story takes around 32 hours to complete so you do have enough time to roll credits ahead of that November 17 deadline.
If you want to tackle side quests too, youâre up to 51.5 hours which is a slightly taller order in the allotted time but itâs perhaps possible.
You shouldnât embark on a completionist run at this stage. Itâll take you 89.5 hours which is a big time commitment.
Not only that, but you might actually burn yourself out on GTA, dulling the fun of diving into GTA VI on launch day.
